Assistant Community School Director for Flushing High School, New York City
Krystal Turner is the Assistant Community School Director working with Flushing High School in New York City. As Assistant Community School Director, Krystal is responsible for coordinating partnerships to develop student engagement within the community school strategy at the school, providing support to the school’s Peer Group Connection (PGC) program, and working with school leadership to improve the social and emotional well-being of each student through campus-wide initiatives. Prior to joining CSS, Krystal worked with several non-profits servicing New York City’s youth and homeless population. She has also served as an advocate and aide for students within New Jersey public schools. Krystal is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work from Fordham University. She received her bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in secondary education and history from Seton Hall University.
