Beshon Smith, Ph.D., is the Executive Director for Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC, providing strategic vision and leadership for growth in both states and the District of Columbia, while ensuring that CSS is providing the highest quality of service to partnering schools and districts. Dr. Smith has spent the past eighteen years of her professional career leading organizations, programs, and services that use the transformative power of education to enhance the lives of students and their families. She has partnered with school districts in New York City, Washington D.C., and Baltimore to help strengthen student academic achievement and improve school culture and climate. Dr. Smith holds a doctorate degree in language, literacy and culture from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County; a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in non-profit management from the City University of New York-Baruch College; and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the City University of New York-John Jay College.
