Student & Family Engagement Coordinator (temporary)

The full-time Student & Family Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the community school’s student engagement strategy. The Student & Family Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with administration, faculty, staff, and students during the traditional school week and Saturday Office of Adult Education and Continuing Education (OACE) programming.  The Student & Family Engagement Coordinator will create, strengthen, and maintain the bridge between the school and community in the efforts of promoting student success. The Student & Family Engagement Coordinator will facilitate and provide leadership for the collaborative process and development of a continuum of services for student success in academics, attendance, and social-emotional development.

The Student & Family Engagement Coordinator will assist with OACE Saturday English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. He/she school will work with adult learners’ in achieving their educational and/or career goals during Saturday morning classes.  

Additional responsibilities include organizing logistics to support multiple OACE Saturday ESL classes. This includes creating and maintaining communication protocols with adult learners and working alongside OACE staff in multiple ways (MetroCard distribution, incentive system management, breakfast delivery and severing coordination, etc.).

Initially, the Student & Family Engagement Coordinator will support establishing and implementing a community school strategy under the direction of the Community Schools Director. Over time, he/she may support any or all of CSS’s leadership solutions that may be implemented at the school. The Student & Family Engagement Coordinator will ensure that the student engagement and development strategy is implemented at exceptional levels of quality with full support, buy-in, and regular communication with stakeholders across the school community.
